Events of Interest
This year’s Covid-19 Pandemic has introduced a wide swath of Americans to the joys of gardens and gardening. The fresh air and other healthful benefits of outdoor exercise, together with the good feeling of accomplishing something useful has drawn many to begin gardening, or increase activities in the garden.
Volunteers are welcome to come work in the garden any time during the two days. Mask wearing and social distancing will be observed and a Brown Bag lunch will be provided to all who register.
Volunteers will be given a brief tour of the gardens to view the recent changes and additions made as part of the American Rose Society’s Great Garden Restoration Project 2017-2022. After the tour, volunteers will be guided through tasks by garden team leaders. Tasks might include rose care, bulb planting, area cleanup and help with preparations for Christmas in Roseland.
No experience needed. Volunteers may bring available tools and should provide garden gloves. Scout troops, 4-H Clubs, and church groups are encouraged to participate.
For more information about Volunteer Days, please contact Kim Merritt at (318) 938-5402 or email email@example.com. Registration is necessary to reserve a complimentary Brown Bag lunch.
